JACK OF ALL TRAITS, MASTER OF NONE

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when this quote is said??

Let me briefly walk you down life in the shoes of a merchant mariner. My name is Richard and i myself am i merchant mariner. We are proud to be merchant mariners cause if we did not exist there would be no exchange of trade worldwide or even regional. Let me start by saying we seaman have one of those noble jobs which forces you to be mentally and physically strong to survive the sea. Sometimes people think that sea is very lovely and very calm and its an easy life out there but like the nursery rhyme sang " A sailor went to sea sea sea, to see what he could see see see, and all that he could see see see, was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea". Always remember that at sea there are good days and there are bad days, and most of the time the bad ones over-power the good days.

Coming back to my statement "JACK OF ALL TRAITS, MASTER OF NONE" we merchant mariners live by that statement cause we have knowledge about the sea, stars, clouds, machinery, ships, maintenance, cooking, steering, navigation and honestly this list can go on and on, but there is a catch, we are masters of none. Well at least we are masters at navigating but when it comes to the others we just have sufficient knowledge to survive. And that is why seaman are known as " JACK OF ALL TRAITS, MASTER OF NONE" all around the world.
