The unsung hero

My ideal leader is the unsung hero of the Philippines; Andres Bonifacio, the leader of "KKK" Kataas-taasang Kagalang galangang na Katipunan ng mga anak ng bayan which means (highest and most respected sociesty of the country's children) who leads the filipino guirellas and fought for the independence and freedom for the Filipino people against the Spanish colony. His democratic style of leadership and love for his country made him the person that I admired most.

Making the long story short, the Spaniards invaded Philippines for 333 years and resided to our country like their own. The Spaniards control the government, made slaves, raped and forced labor to those people that they think to be inferior than them. Andres Bonifacio stood against them using armed revolt. Andres gathered all filipino people who sought freedom and stop the brutality of the Spaniards. The guerillas made various attacks against the Spanish groups through bombing and war and taking control from one city to another.

He was then called to various names like 'May pag-asa' which means (there is hope), 'Supremo' which means supreme leader and many more to disguise himself. His leadership style and knowledge for war has led the rebels to victory against the Spaniards.

He was then betrayed by one of his comrade named Emilio Aguinaldo which became the first president of the Republic of the Philippines (but actually he's a traitor). The rebels voted Andres to be the president but out of jelousy Emilio turned him and set him up and accused for burning down a village because they didn't give provisions to Andres's troops. Emilio's troops attacked Andres later that night. Andres refused to fight against fellow filipino but he was shot in his right arm and stabbed in the neck, his brother was killed and his wife was probably raped, but he survived the attack and later sent to court and charged guilty and was executed.

The historical assessment of Bonifacio involves several controversial points. His death is alternately viewed as a justified execution for treason and a "legal murder" fueled by politics. Some historians consider him to be the rightful first President of the Philippines instead of Aguinaldo. Some historians have also opined that Bonifacio share or even take the place of José Rizal as the (foremost) Philippine national hero.
