THALA AJITH KUMAR

Ajith Kumar is an Indian film actor who has worked mainly in Tamil cinema. He is one of the leading actors in Tamil Cinema. He has won three Filmfare Best Actor Awards in Tamil, all for films which showcased him in multiple roles. Ajith performs predominantly in leading roles in major studio films, genres ranging from romantic comedies and drama to action thrillers. I am a die hard of this man who is the definition of class! Ajith Kumar is usually referred to as THALA.

When it comes to Thala. He has 3 most prominent trade marks that makes him different from the other actors.

Besides all these, there are several reasons why I admire and look up to Thala. 

Since day 1, he has followed his passion. He might have taken a break from his passion but after he recovered, he was back on track; racing towards his passion. He is person who loves racing. From bike racing, Thala moved to car racing. He made his international racing debut in 2003 in the Formula BMW Asia Championship. In 2010, he took part in the FIA Formula 2 Championship and went on to become the third Indian in F2 along with Armaan Ebrahim and Parthiva Sureshwaran. This was not a small achievement considering he was a film star and had come back to racing professionally after a six-year break. 

Besides that, another reason why I admire Thala is that he respects everyone around him. Stories abound, from directors to spot boys and starlets, on how well Thalatreats everyone he interacts with. Here’s what Trisha, his co-star in Yennai Arindhaal said: “Can’t stop talking if you ask me to say a few words about Ajith. He is someone who treats everyone on the sets, including a light boy or tea vendor, equally. I still wonder how he does that! Soon after he reaches the sets, Ajith looks if there is anyone in need of help and soon goes in that direction to do his bit. Most importantly, He knows how to respect women.”

Thala has always encouraged his fan to be bold, kind and versatile.  He said, “Very often most of our actors are threatened by few personalities in film industry to get connected with political issues. Now and then, lots of protests are held by the members in union. I request everyone to let the actors get on with their profession and save them for the best.”  Superstar Rajinikanth gave a Standing applause to Thala’s Speech and the audience in the gallery were stunned. When comes to being versatile, Thala is a perfect example. Car Racing, Aeromodelling, Bikes, Photography and cooking surely makes Thala  one of the most versatile actor in Indian film industry. As mentioned earlier, Thala respects everyone and he surely is kind to everyone. There are many people who would vouch me on this!

Another quality about Thala is his self confidence. If we are not confident about ourselves, who will put their trust and be confident about our work? Thala has gone through multiple surgeries in back spine, knee and shoulder injuries still he comes back strongly. He is still one of the leading actors in the Tamil industry and a well known actor globally. Do you all know that Ajith Kumar is a school dropout? He dropped out of Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School in 1986 before even completing his higher secondary.  In an interview, Thala addressed himself as the family's dunce. He has proved himself that being a dropout does not stop life.

You still have a life and you can be a self made - Be a KING MAKER. The actor comes from a very non-filmy background, having revealed in many interviews that he was called ‘the dunce’ of the family. His brothers are in white collar jobs – one’s a stockbroker while the other is an IIT graduate. Thala was the black sheep of the family, but eventually made his way to the top.

Thala later started a non-profit organisation (NGO) called “Mohini-Mani Foundation”, which is named after his parents. He wanted to promote self-hygiene and civic consciousness and to help ease the problems of urban sprawl. Not many are aware of this non-profit organisation is being run by Thala Ajith. Thala has always been involved in many charity work, but he has never made any move to. publicize it. Do Charity, but don’t publicize it.

Thala has been a person lead by example. He is a man that inspires his fan to follow him on his good deeds. Thala Ajith went on a road trip to show his fans the importance of road safety. It’s better to sweat than to bleed: Ajith. Thala Ajith inspires his fans to wear a helmet and other safety gears.




The last but not least is his love and loyalty to his wife. Thala Ajith and Shalini tied the knot in 2000, a year after they fell in love on the sets of Amarkalam. Shortly after the Amarkalam incident, Ajith realised that Shalini was the woman he wanted to be with. In an interview, the Thala of Kollywood mentioned Shalini as his sea. “I am like a river. My life has taken several turns, clashed with several rocks and am carrying a lot of things on my shoulders. I have now found the sea for me. I believe that this would help me calm down and channelize my spirit,” said Ajith in a 1999 interview to a Tamil magazine. A celebrated child artist and a successful heroine, Shalini decided to quit films in her prime. “I enjoyed acting but Ajith was more tempting. I had no qualms about quitting. I am not the kind of person who could manage a home and an acting career. I was very clear about my priorities and it is very peaceful,” she said in a 2009 interview with JFW. She also mentions that it feels good when people tell her that they miss her onscreen. “I feel I did the right thing otherwise it wouldn’t be this way. This has earned me a lot of respect,” she had said.
